An Honest Puppet for the White House.

Some of you have commented on the lack of McMazing programming lately at your local library. I apologize to my fans and ask for your patience. America, in her hour of need, has called out for a leader. I have answered that call in a bid for the White House. I, like many of you, believe America hasn’t been great since Bruce Springsteen topped the charts, and that it’s time to dust off our cassette decks, put those over-size tires back on our pick-em-up trucks, and haul this country out of the mud.

Summer is with us once again, and what comes with summer? Zombies also.

Possibly the only family friendly zombie apocalypse  in the history of the end of the world, this show has yet to leave an audience without stitches, breaking down the door for more. Don’t be left out, like me.

Yes, I am the star puppet here at McMazing tales, which is why it came as a total shock to discover I had been completely written out of this summer’s extravaganza.  Ignored, put out to pasture, treated like an old used up sock. Darn them! Darn them all!!!! If it weren’t for the few remaining threads of decency that still exist…

Fortunately, this summers egregious act of negligence has caused more litigated heads to prevail, allowing me to resume my pampered pin cushion in the proverbial sock drawer.

Beginning this October, come enjoy McMazing tales all new show Pajama Monster at a Library near you. Then, in December, renew your faith in humanity as Ruby, the Christmas Cow saves, um, Christmas.

We’ll also be taking Pecos Bill on the road to elementary schools, ask your principle if it can be yours.

It’s all very exciting! Especially the part with me in it.

Summer Splash-a-palooza opens at Highland City Library

Friends of McMazingness,

Picture this: Screaming monkeys, dancing octopuses, a menacing mustached starfish, and a special appearance by da da da dee dum…*drum roll please*…yours truly. That’s right, I Monkey, graced the crowd with an elegant and erudite retelling of one of my favorite books in a fine example (if I do say so myself) of Monkeypiece Theatre.

Last Wednesday at Highland City Library, we were joined by 150 kids, their mothers, and their invisible friends for the kick-off of our summer show. Will & Randy opened the festivities with a rousing round of bubble machine bliss (and you thought bubble machines weren’t allowed in libraries). We had great audience participation during our rhyming song (my favorite was “duck driving a truck”), and we made friends with Luke, a brave audience volunteer who assisted me with my Monkeypiece Theatre reading.

Along with the successes, there were a few near disasters, such as when Super Goat got a little carried away and tried to brush the teeth of one kid who insisted he never brushed his teeth. Fortunately Randy was able to wrassle Super Goat to the ground just in the nick of time, before any serious dental disaster occurred.

And then there was the other near disaster–What am I saying? This was more than a near disaster. This was a certifiable fashion faux pas of colossal, earth-shattering proportions–of Will’s curly blond wig! Refer to the photo evidence and see if I’m not right. Good heavens, did he get that thing off the end of a mop? Someone needs to speak to him about that…

It was an exciting show. Don’t miss it when it comes to a library near you!
